ADAM Atelier Review

By Adam Monday 9th Mar, 2020

This month I visited ADAM, the award-winning barbershop to review and check out what all the fuss is about.

They have had locations popping up since 2016 and now boast venues in Mayfair, Canary Wharf, Fitzrovia, City of London and London Bridge, along with the Victoria Atelier where I was invited to try out the services.

I feel it’s fair to say that ADAM’s Ateliers fall into the category of offering more of a experience than just a haircut. Upon arrival I was offered a Turkish coffee, water, beer, an Old Fashioned and Japanese Whisky – as expected at 5pm on a Tuesday I selected the latter.

The Director’s Cut included a consultation, wash, cut, dry, second wash, hot towel, friction scalp massage and styling. It was as good as any cut that I’ve had from what I’d class as a premium barbershop and I also enjoyed the conversation that gave me the incite into the atmosphere of the Istanbul Derby, a far cry to the serenity I was experiencing in his chair.

The interior design is contemporary, uncluttered and impressive. I was informed that the decors aim is to combine Scandi-simplicity with a traditional Turkish barbershop.

ADAM use owned products in the stores and the line includes hair syling products including clay, paste, mudd and pomade. The matte finish paste I sampled had a lovely scent and worked really well as a styling product.

Price-wise I’d say it’s what you’d expect for a more premium service. The Directors Cut cost £35 and I would say that’s fair.
