New to the UK, Australian premium men’s skincare brand launches at London Fashion Week Men’s. Liquid Skin Care award winning products have caused such a stir in the industry and rightly so. Stocked exclusively in Harrods from June 1st the brand has also become the British Fashion Councils official skincare sponsor at LFWM.

Established in 2012, this proud Australian brand collection is superb and effective, having tried out all their key products I can vouch for their effectiveness. The products address common skincare problems such as dryness, redness, breakouts and ageing. Each product solving a skincare issue rather than a jack of all trade product which has been common in the industry. Products are designed with the purest grade ingredients to show results fast. Melbourne based co-founders Anthony McDonough and Chris Glebatsas are the living embodiment of the brand embracing the brands three pillars: Diet, Training and Skincare.

Anti-irritants, anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging peptides are just some of the active ingredients you’ll find in Lqd products. In producing cosmeceutical level skincare, McDonough explains “It’s not just what’s in the product that counts, it’s also what’s left out – ingredients that are known skin irritants like essential oils, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, menthol, colourings and fragrances”.

McDonough originally trained as an organic chemist, and applies a no-nonsense practicality to Lqd’s innovative product line-up. “If you’re anything like me, you’re active.” he says, “and when you train hard, you shower often, so you need products to remove the sweat and grime of life that aren’t too harsh, with the ability to replenish the balance of oils in your skin. I searched the world to find products that lived up to this and after 20 years of not finding what I needed, I created Lqd to fill that void.”

We Tested some of the brands key face products:

Face Calm Hero
Formulated to reduce redness and irritation. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this product. It certainly works and I like the soothing nature it has while still leaving skin feeling hydrated.

Face Hydrate Hero
One of the brands best sellers. Winner of the Men’s Health Grooming Award for Best New Moisturiser, I am certainly a good judge of moisturisers having used them throughout my whole life. What I love about this product first off it its non-greasy nature and its designed with people suffering from Eczema, Rosacea, or other red itchy dry skin conditions in mind.

Face Scrub Hero
Lqd face scrub thoroughly cleans pores and eliminates dead skin cells, removing the layers of excess oil and buildup that can make your skin look tired and lifeless. I liked the way this product gave my skin a new glow or almost a new layer.

Face Shave Hero
Winner of the Men’s Health Grooming Award for Best New Shaving Cream/Gel. This has to be my favourite product tested. Definitely a game changer often with shave gels skin feels dry, this on the other hand is suitable for the most sensitive of skin and won’t clog your razor like others do.

Face Wash Hero
After a heavy night or a long workout this is the perfect answer to take care of grime a sweat build up. Unlinke others I have used in the past this feels light and fresh. Sometimes ones with fragrance feel overbearing to use.
