The Interview: Gary Singh

By Rashpal Amrit Friday 9th Oct, 2015

This week we spoke with Gary Singh, Founder and Editor of menswear fashion magazine Entouraaj. Launched in the summer of 2012, the blog focuses of men from South Asian origin with a taste for dapper style. Entouraaj has become a big influence in the South Asian community; guys who have been historically overlooked and under represented within the mainstream fashion industry now have a platform.

The blog covers everything from style to men’s grooming tips, everything the modern gentleman needs. Heres’ the interview with the main man behind the blog.

What inspired you to start blogging?

Simply having the will to share something that no one else was.

Who is your style icon?

Anyone who exudes effortlessness in the way that they dress.

Where do you see mens fashion going in the next 5-10 years?

Men’s accessories are the way forward. Sunglasses, bags, watches, pocket squares and so forth. Even men not particularly interested in fashion have a passion for these things.

What are your favourite designers and places to shop right now?

The brands that currently excite me the most are Burton Menswear, Richard James, ClothSurgeon and New Balance. I can’t wait to see what they do next. You’re more likely to see me on than on Regent Street.

Whats your best perk of being a blogger?

The best perk is getting invited to exclusive fashion events where both your presence and opinion is valued.

If you could travel back to any fashion decade, which would it be?

What would you say to any aspiring fashion blogger?

There’s someone out there that gives a damn about what you have to say.

How do you communicate & how can people follow you?

Social media for it’s ease of use but I’d never substitute that over a face-to-face meeting and coffee. Follow me @garygsingh or my blog @entouraaj
