By Robert Etheridge Wednesday 10th Feb, 2016

In the world of contemporary furniture there can be few names as evocative as Ercol. Founded by Italian designer Lucian Ercolani in 1920, the brand continues to produce iconic designs here in England that combine timeless style, functionality and longevity.

Ercol chose the Maison et Objet design show in Paris to showcase its latest collection, designed in collaboration with internationally renowned designer Matthew Hilton. Here are the Dapper Chapper picks:

All constructed from oak, Hilton’s shelving units and Pero desk are perfect for your office or creative space. The Pero Desk features a pull-out drawer at the front as well as a black fold out space to the rear to provide easy access for wiring up office tech.

Ercol has also reimagined a number of its Originals designs and these made their debut alongside Hilton’s collection. The Originals room divider which first appeared in 1956 has been reissued in elm and beech for its 60th anniversary. With reassuringly solid construction, elegant tapered feet and cupboard storage, the room divider is a must for creating a versatile division between your work and living areas.

Ercol Originals Drop Leaf Plank Table and Butterfly Chair

Also new for 2016, Ercol’s Originals Drop Leaf Plank Table seats up to four and is an ideal way to inject mid-century style into your studio or dining area. Pictured here with the Originals Butterfly Chair, the table could also be paired with Ercol’s Originals Stacking Chair, available in a number of wooden or coloured finishes for a more eclectic look.
