Ettinger Wallets

When it comes to carrying money around which one do you prefer; a wallet, card-holder or a note-clip? Well I’ve been looking for something that not only looks the part but has the compact nature of a card-holder and a bit of space for my loose change.

The brand that’s delivered for me is Ettinger, who are one of the few remaining British luxury leather goods companies. The company has been manufacturing since 1934 and pride themselves with designing and handcrafting the finest leather goods.

Ettinger is clearly a company that prides itself on tradition but also isn’t afraid to move with the times. We actually discovered them in the accessories room during the latest London Collections: Men.

Firstly, in 1996, they received a Royal Warrant in recognition of the work carried out for the Royal Household and were appointed to HRH the Prince of Wales and this comes as no shock when you see the products.

The item I fell in love with is the Croco coin purse which ticks both the aesthetic and practically boxes. It’s incredibly compact, providing a suitable home for your coins but also two slots (back and inside) for your cards.

The embossed crocodile print in rich mahogany and ebony hues just works. The detail is beautiful, including engraved buttons to add the signature Ettinger touch.

The ‘croco’ print leather is actually made with Italian cowhide which then goes through a number of treatment processes to come out like it has. I had to research this as it could easily pass as real croc leather!
The panel hide, or in Lehman, the interior, is also carefully finished, with the black leather contrasting with the gold print of ETTINGER LONDON.
Size: 10cm x 7cm x 2cm when closed.
One of my favourite finds of 2016 and you can buy it here for £145.
