Why is there a picture of an incredibly majestic, powerful, beautiful and rare snow leopard at the top of this review, as opposed to a standard picture of a bottle of alcohol I hear you asking???

Well first of all…..because just look at how cool it is!! Effortlessly cool – you could call it a true Dapper Chapper of the animal kingdom. But more importantly, because this is the animal that you help to save, every time you purchase this incredible brand of vodka – Snow Leopard.

It is estimated that there are only 3,500 snow leopards left on the planet, so when founder Stephen Sparrow heard this, he set out to find a way to help. Snow Leopard luxury spelt vodka was his answer, coming up with a brand that not only mirrored the beauty and the majesty of this wonderful species, but also gives back.

Snow Leopard vodka donates 15% of all profits to the Snow Leopard Trust, which aims to prevent this wonderful animal from becoming extinct. They aim to sell 100,000 cases of Snow Leopard a year to allow them to generate enough revenue and awareness to safe guard the Snow Leopards future.

And that is a cause we can very much get on board with here at Dapper Chapper.

Especially when the vodka Sparrow has created tastes as good as it does. It made using a rare spelt grain, which isn’t commonly used in vodka production due to the much higher cost of using this grain – up 6 times more expensive than the traditional grains used in vodka.

Produced in the world renowned Polmos Lublin distillery in Poland, it is the world’s first luxury vodka produced using the spelt grains, which have been described as “The Grandfather of all grains”. It is such a special grain as its tough husk protects it from any outside pollutants as well as retaining all the good nutrients inside it. The vodka is distilled 6 times using fresh, natural spring water to ensure the purest possible spirit.

There can be absolutely no denying that they have achieved a spirit that is of the highest quality. The taste is among the purest vodkas I have ever had the pleasure of trying. There is a clear nutty taste to the vodka, which is a direct result of the spelt grain used in its production. However, there is a strong vanilla taste, which compliments the nutty flavours perfectly and leaves you with an incredibly smooth taste on the tongue.

And if you don’t want to take my word for it, then maybe you’ll listen to some of the most prestigious awards in the industry. Snow Leopard was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2014 International Spirits Challenge, while it was given a Gold Medal at the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago, at which experts rated it “Exceptional”.

Sparrow really has done a fantastic job of combining a passion to help one of the world’s most majestic and beautiful animals, with a truly high end vodka. We really can’t recommend purchasing a bottle of this stuff to try highly enough. Not only will you be treating yourself to a quality of vodka you probably haven’t experienced before, but you’ll also be saving a Snow Leopard somewhere…. and who can argue with that?

And so to our recommended cocktail….one that you can enjoy safe in the knowledge that you truly have made a small difference to the world by buying the vodka in it.
