GIN KITCHEN’S INSANE OSTRICH CLASSIC GIN

By admin Friday 16th Sep, 2022

Gin Kitchen craft their drinks in the Surrey Hills area and can be found in luxury stores, exclusive hotels, michelin-starred restaurants and specialist spirit merchants.

Their Insane Ostrich Gin caught my eye, I can’t help but judge a book on its cover – it’s my toxic trait, I’m a drinks snob both from a quality and aesthetic POV. The bottle has reusable written all over it. Once I’ve worked my way through its delicious contents, this bottle will take pride of place on my kitchen side.

This gin is as quirky inside as it is outside so here’s what you need to know…

– Nose: Aromatic citrus and pine. The scent of adventure!

– Texture: Creamy, rich and as smooth as laminar airflow.

– Palate: Piney juniper core with zest and pepper. Sweet and skillfully balanced.

– Finish: Clean fragrant juniper; dry and enduring.

– Ingredients: Bright and clean juniper from Kossovo, lemon zest, lime zest, coriander seed, cubeb pepper, cassia bark, angelica root, orris root, grain spirit.

– Key information: 48% vol. 70cl.

Top tip from Gin Kitchen themselves ‘For an exceptional martini, keep the bottle and two martini glasses in the freezer. At cocktail hour, simply pour into the chilled glasses and wave in the general direction of Italy. Who said Ostriches can’t fly?’ If a G&T is your thing, serve in a copa glass with ice and tonic. We like to garnish simply with a twist of lime zest.
