We’ve had a few off, but Wine of The Week is back and just in time for the, err, Great British Summer.
The brand that’s being covered this week is Californian based Barefoot Wine & Bubbly who make some great wines, and we’ve picked out one red and one white that we think you should try.
In the hope the sun comes back out let’s start with a white and Barefoot has debuted a luscious new Chardonnay that’s worth giving a go.
Honeyed peach and Fuji apple alongside aromas of sweet vanilla, this medium bodied wine promises a sumptuously smooth taste. Perfectly paired with fresh fruits and a warm summer breeze, Barefoot Chardonnay goes great with pasta or some fresh light seafood.
It’s a Gold Medal winner at the Critics Challenge International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2015, and crucially comes with an affordable price tag of just £6.99 – bargain!
But if you’re sticking to red don’t fear we have a something for you too. It’s a Malbec which continue to grow in popularity and this version by Barefoot Wine tantalizes the taste buds.
Big juicy flavours of blackberry and currant set sail on a gorgeous gust of vanilla, caramel and toasted oak, so it’s no surprise that Barefoot Malbec is the latest award winner to the fun-loving brand’s already acclaimed range. The varietal received a Double Gold Medal and Best of Class at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition in 2015.
Barefoot Malbec goes great with barbequed steak, pulled pork or caramelized-onion pizza, making it a FOOT-tastic wine to enjoy during the warm summer months. It’s another sub £10 bottle again with a price tag of £6.99 and definitely worth a try.
Both bottles are available from Ocado among other stockists.
