A Day in Dubai

By Matt Denney Wednesday 17th Jan, 2018

One of the most visited destinations in the world, Dubai is a city that caters for all tastes. Here at the Dapper Chapper we’ll dip your toe into the warm waters of the Gulf and take you through three of our top recommendations for where to go on your Middle Eastern adventure.

Dubai Spray Yacht Party

When visiting Dubai, one of the best ways to take in the city’s spectacular skyline is from out on the waters of the Arabian Gulf. And if you want to enjoy that view with a few drinks, a chilled vibe and a live DJ, then a Dubai Spray yacht party should be high on your list.

Party bookings are available at a range of prices, which includes unlimited alcohol and can also extend to food as well. Revellers are typically out on the waves for four hours, with a popular slot being 2-6pm where you get the pleasure of a Dubai sunset before the boat returns to the Marina.

Onboard the party atmosphere kicks off before the boat is even in motion and with two decks, there’s the luxury of an escape from the heat of that Middle Eastern sun, to the lower level which is home to a shallow pool area. And those looking to add a further layer of glam to the experience can indulge in an incredible face and body paint glittering, beautifully crafted onboard by Paris Golding

An Urban Bistro Brunch

In amongst the towering high-rise hotels and beachside restaurants, Dubai is also home to the more traditional cafe brunch venues that we Londoners may be more familiar with.

Tucked away in Media City, Urban Bistro is the perfect place to catch up with friends over coffee, pull out the laptop and get on top of those emails, or even just to recover from a heavy night before.

A home grown cafe, this charming breakfast and lunch venue keeps things refreshingly simple whilst offering an extensive and every growing menu bursting with tasty choices that will set you up for the day and won’t leave you light in the wallet.

Pet friendly, Urban Bistro really does cater for all and its warm and welcoming staff make you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you arrive.

The hustle and bustle of the city can make downtime hard to find, and that’s why you should pay Urban Bistro a visit when you’re in Dubai.

Flamingo Room by Tasha

You’re spoilt for choice in Dubai when it comes to Instagram worthy dining venues. But while some struggle to attain the same high level of quality on the plate as they showcase in their outward appearance and stunning locations, Flamingo Room’s food more than matches up to to it’s exquisite setting.

Located at Jumeriah Al Naseem, with both indoor and outdoor seating leading up to an idyllic turtle lagoon, the marble floored Flamingo Room was already filling up with diners when we arrived for our early evening reservation.

Service was impeccable from the moment we walked in, with the waiting staff both proactive and knowledgable, talking us through the vast menu choices and educating us flavours and portions.

We opted for beef tartare and beef carpaccio starters followed by lamb cutlets and mussels marinière. Towards the high end of the price scale, you’re hoping for something special when you visit Flamingo Room, and our selections did not disappoint.

South African chef and restauranteur Natasha Sideris, owner of South African cafe chain Tashas, has opened the Flamingo Room as her first licensed restaurant in Dubai and it is sure to be a popular spot for tourists, families, businessmen and Emirati alike.
