Badger & Co.

Chaps, your attention please…Edinburgh’s Castle Street has recently been treated with the opening of a cracking new bar that incorporates a supreme blend of traditionalism and contemporary style, and elegance…

Cast your minds back to your youth and think Mole, Mr Toad, Mr Badger & Co. Of course, we’re referring to the The Wind in the Willows…these dear chaps play the main protagonists within the back story to this fine establishment, with the bar itself, located within the former home of Wind and the Willows author, Kenneth Grahame. Bravo!

Now old boy, this is an adventure into the woods you want to embark on…

The interior of this place is classically chic, with subtle references to both the book and its characters; yet the theme is neither overpowering nor too reserved.

As we approach the wonderful British summertime, Badger & Co. offers an idyllic venue for a couple of afternoon beverages. The drinks themselves are wonderful and the menu extremely diverse, so whether it’s a classic Bloody Mary (which, may we add, they nail) or a taste of summer (Pimms in the Willows’ was as refreshing as the smell of cut grass), they cater for all.

Oh, we’re sorry, it’s a spot of luncheon you’re after?

Well, there’s no need to leave good fellow! On the contrary, their food offering is marvelous.

This place is fabulous for a spot of lunch...

This place is fabulous for a spot of lunch…

A dapper chapper favourite was the ‘Full Sett,’ Brekkie…crikey that filled the gap, or for something more apt for the afternoon, their Roast Rack of Borders Lamb is T.D.F. (to die for)

So Chaps, if you venture to the Scottish capital, and by god you’d be a fool not to, check out this superb new bar down Castle Street:

Classic, crafty and culinary adventures, beyond the wild wood…
