Portman Marylebone Blue Badge Tours

Portman Marylebone is hosting a series of Blue Badge Tours throughout September (12th and 19th) encouraging people to take to their heels for real and explore London. The walks hosted by a certified Blue Badge Tour guide, will explore Portman Marylebone and discover the “It crowd’ who brought it to life over the centuries. This 1.5 hour walk (plus coffee break at Chiltern Street’s Monocle Cafe, so leave 2 hours) through the neighbourhood streets takes in music, fashion and art against a backdrop of fine 18th and 19th-century houses, elegant garden squares, huge churches and mews, and cute independent shopping streets.

Each walk will take you past the homes of two Beatles and a Seventies rock legend, an extraordinary art gallery whose works never leave London and which has portraits of The “It” crowd of the 18th and 19th centuries, and the shadowy, glamorous world of London espionage. Imagine the energy and creativity of the East End transported to the nearest thing you can get to West End village.

The ‘It People’: The Portman Marylebone Walks of Fame’, will take place at 11am on Saturday September 12 and 19.

Pre-booking is essential and tickets cost £10, all of which goes to charity partner City Harvest. Tickets can be booked here.
