As loyal Dapper Chapper readers will know, we are big fans of Hakkasan, and so we could not have been more excited to hear that The Hakkasan Group were opening its second Yauatcha restaurant.
Following the success of the Michelin-starred Soho restaurant, Yauatcha City has opened at Broadgate circle in the heart of the city. It is an all-day dim sum dining experience which is perfect for a light lunch or they offer larger feasts with wok dishes.
We were lucky enough to sample some of their signature Dim Sum on the launch night, and can tell you that it is delicious, the Venison Puff is melt in your mouth incredible!
Guests to Yauatcha City will enjoy the choice of two bars, two spacious outside terraces and a large main dining area. The Chinese kitchen will be led by Chef Tong Chee Hwee, who holds a total of 12 years’ experience with the Hakkasan group, initially as Head Chef of the original Hakkasan Hanway Place and then bringing his skill and creativity to the group globally as Executive Head Chef.
The menu at will embody the Chinese dim sum teahouse concept, where friends and family gather to catch up over excellent dim sum, wok dishes, tea and cocktails. It will present authentic Cantonese dishes with a modern influence, offering a wide range of steamed, baked, grilled and fried dim sum such. To complement the cuisine, the drinks menu will comprise 38 types of tea, as well as cocktails inspired by Chinese ingredients and a broad wine and Champagne list.
A first for the company, Yauatcha City will also see the launch of a standalone Yauatcha Patisserie on the level below the main restaurant, where Chinese heritage and modern European cooking techniques have inspired the pastry team, led by Executive Pastry Chef Graham Hornigold, to create an array of macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates.
I’m sure you do not need any more persuading to get yourself a reservation at Yauacha! It is a true Dapper Chapper venue, and comes highly recommended by us.
