Carl Friedrik C1 Backpack Review

Carl Friedrik is a brand has achieved some decent airtime on the blog, with our love affair starting when we reviewed their 25-hour Palissy bag, which seems to receive a positive comment every time I use it.

Despite my best efforts to ‘engage my core’ with working days becoming longer, my posture has suffered a little as late, so I’ve been perusing the market for a new rucksack to avoid becoming too lop-sided. Naturally, given the success I’ve had with the previous Carl Friedrik purchase, they were my first port of call.

The backpack combines vegetable tanned leather, which is the oldest and most sustainable way of making leather with heavy duty Italian nylon canvas to create its robust structure.

The detail includes heavy duty Raccagini zips where no expense is spared. It’s the same zip used across the bags and they look like they’d be seriously tough to break. In addition, the bag boasts a trolley strap so you can easily attach it to your suitcase.

Unlike many leather backpacks, the leather straps are very comfortable and the ergonomics have clearly been considered to avoid the straps not cutting into you.

It’s a seriously stylish backpack and available in Navy, Black or Fango-Brown for £295 at Carl Friedrik
