LFWM – John Smedley SS18, St James

By Rashpal Amrit Monday 26th Jun, 2017

This is John Smedley’s first Catwalk showcase at LFWM as part of St James. This season the brand introduces ‘Precision/Fluidity’, a collection filled with new design development whilst remaining true to the brands core heritage.

There is a strong Asian influence within the collection, the emblem of the season being the watercolour of Japanese Koi. John Smedley II himself bought the watercolour to England in the 1930s.

The pinnacle of the collection centers around a John Smedley menswear and womenswear suit, tailored for a sharp finish and featuring the John Smedley’s extra fine merino wool and wild silk lining printed. It’s a signature style that will be available through the Jermyn Street store.

Saturday 10th June also saw the brand’s first avenue into the ‘See Now, Buy Now’ category with newly introduced silk scarves and embellished tee’s available at both London stores and new footwear in association with Trickers and eyewear with Kirk & Kirk available as limited edition pieces.
