Orlebar Brown & Emilio Pucci Collaboration

By Rashpal Amrit Thursday 26th Mar, 2015

Just in time for the summer months ahead, the master of print and the master tailor of swimwear have come together to create an exclusive collection for men and women. The twenty-piece collection re-connects Pucci with its origins in resort-style menswear, and for Orlebar Brown explores the timeless appeal of Italian jet set. Together they have successfully created a thoroughly modern interpretation of Riveria glamour.

The tailored swim shorts, an Orlebar Brown specialty is at the core of the collection. Featuring small geometrics pulled from the Pucci archives, the patterns re-open the doors to an exciting and less visible period in Pucci’s great print history. Impeccably crafted each piece is more than just your standard beachwear. The shorts are cut from a top quality Italian cotton poplin that has been treated with Teflon to create a water repellant seal. The men’s rash guards, also functioning as surf tops, are made of a high-end performance jersey with zip fronts and classic thumb holes.

Laudomia Pucci, CEO of Emilio Pucci says, ‘My father was the first designer to do resort wear, but a lot of people don’t realise that he had a great menswear following in this category back in the 1970s. It’s a perfect time for us to return to that sunny men’s segment and we’ve found the perfect partner in Orlebar Brown. They are just as obsessed with colour, fit and quality as we are.’

Adam Brown, Founder of Orlebar Brown says, ‘Some prints date. A Pucci print never does. In fact, this collaboration is very much of the moment – print has moved from being quintessentially a female staple to becoming an accepted part of the stylish man’s wardrobe. We’re delighted to continue to play our part in that transformation and to push the boundaries within men’s fashion.’

The collection will be available from March at both Emilio Pucci’s and Orlebar Brown’s websites as well as select stores worldwide.
