We’ve become acquainted with Peter Christian this last while and believe this is the kind of brand we chaps can get on board with. Founded by the heir to a tailoring dynasty, Nick Alderton focused his talents of the floundering high street sector, spotting a place for the more discerning and stylish gentleman. Now spanning dresswear and suits, all the way to nightwear, knitwear, and foorwear, Peter Christian has carved out a niche in this elusive sector.
Besides the wonderfully tailored pieces available on the site – and we are especially impressed with the range of fabrics – we really enjoy popping over to the Lord Trousers blog, pen name of managing director Nick. His wit and candour more than matches the skill and tailoring of his pieces and it makes for an entertaining and educational read, something we hope our readers appreciate in a piece, eh?
While each piece is a thing of beauty, we’ve fallen particularly for this beautiful wool crewneck jumper. A classic crew design, with chunky collar and ribbed cuffs it sites easily on top of a shirt. Each one is hand crafted in Scotland from 100% British wool, so be careful with the washing here, and don’t forget to dry flat.
Supremely soft, it’s also warm enough to keep out the last of the winter chill and transition seamlessly into your spring look. For the more daring among you the claret is a striking rich red, destined to stand out, the classic navy is a choice that suite most looks and is an ideal ‘go-to’ piece, while the moss green puts us in mind of bracing spring walks in woodland – or a few jars adjacent a cosy wood-fire local, at least. Ultimately the looks is yours to create, but we think this is a solid investment from a quality British outfitter that you’ll come back to again and again.
