RALPH LAUREN PURPLE LABEL FALL 2016

By Phil Hawkins Tuesday 26th Jan, 2016

Ralph Lauren, one of the world’s most iconic fashion brands, comes up trumps yet again with its launch of the Fall 2016 Purple Label collection in Milan recently.

The Ralph Lauren Purple Label Collection makes a strong statement for the season in its creative innovation and dynamic styling that touches the many lifestyle elements of the busy Dapper Chapper.

In the world of haberdashery, Purple Label explores some softer silhouettes – shirt jackets in unlined jersey and suede, cashmere top coats and suits inspired by shirting fabrics – while maintaining the brand’s exceptional tailoring. Other new pieces include soft-collar dress shirts and richly textured sweaters.

Ralph Lauren enhances its interpretation of sportswear with printed and textured lightweight suits, sweaters, trousers and ties. The key sportswear pieces are paired back to the haberdashery pieces for a chic and handsome elegance.

Outerwear makes a strong statement with shearling coats, suede jackets with shearling lining and burnished leather pieces with stitch details. A spin on a signature Purple Label look is the new cowhide trucker jacket, easily our favourite of the entire collection.

The range also explores the combination of luxurious clothing and technical pieces. The winter outdoorsman (aren’t we all?) is presented options ranging from base layering pieces and sleek ski pants, to a tailored suit in black ski-tech fabric.

On top of all of this, comes the pièce de résistance, a range of bespoke fully functional ski equipment including double steel-edge downhill skis that are designed for all-mountain terrain and ski poles with a special Ralph Lauren Touch. In addition comes a one-of-a-kind racing helmet has a built-in visor with adjustable mechanics, including custom-made ear flaps and a leather strap with a reflective shield.

So if you’re busy planning a trip to the Alps later this year, or just want to look good when the cold sets in, this is a range not to be missed.
