As Wimbledon gets well underway, we take a look at it’s official apparel sponsor- Ralph Lauren and the launch of its Spring/Summer 2016 Purple Label range which took place in Milan last week.
“It’s a little bolder, it’s a little more fashion,” Lauren said during a preview and he couldn’t sum it up better. Purple Label brings bold colour combinations, new fabrications and innovative technical treatments to its S/S 16 line, adding a modern edge to luxury menswear.
Ralph Lauren’s tailored clothing crafts a selection of ever so dapper black-and-cream formalwear, head-to-toe looks in shades of tan, a commanding executive group in grey and a whole host of other additions to the power house’s range.
The collection begins with outerwear and sweaters each coming with a racing stripe and leather flashes throughout that wouldn’t look out of place on the grid at Monza. There’s also a section of light, bright and summery jackets, joggers and jumpers inspired by the chic Italian coast. The final portion of the offering consists of refined suiting synonymous with the brand. Intricately patterned options, a classic tuxedo and the ultimate in dapper- slippers stamped with the designer’s initials- all make this a very exciting collection.
