Arabian Beard Ritual – The Spa in Dolphin Square

Recently, the Dapper Chapper took some well-earned downtime and checked in to The Spa in Dolphin Square. Situated only a 15-minute walk from Victoria station, The Spa is a little slice of Morocco in the heart of Westminster. Each client is provided with a robe and towels and along with any booked treatment is allowed access to the following prior of post treatment; the rhassoul chamber , a salt infused steam room and our personal favourite, the tepidarium (think of luxurious heated-sun lounger / bed).

The treatment that we specifically checked-in for was the Arabian Beard Ritual. The purpose of this 25 minute treatment is to soften and nourish the beard whilst leaving you with a brighter complexion.
Treatment Room
The ritual beings with the washing of the face using Savon Noir soap to remove dead skin cells. Savon Noir soap is composed of black and green olives and is rich in vitamin E, which the skin loves. Hot towels are then applied to pressure points around the face and neck, followed by a soothing massage. This method softens the beard hair and prevents in-growing hairs, skin irritation and follicle inflammation. The penultimate part of the process is the application of argan oil. Argan oil is a brilliant companion to hair leaving it glossy and shiny. The skin is then moisturised. Finally the beard is groomed with a beard comb, the method with this is to train the beard follicles to grow in a uniformed direction and promote a well- groomed finish.
