Oppemann London: Pallisy – The 25-hour Bag

By Adam Friday 20th Jan, 2017

A few weeks ago I was invited to the Oppermann London store located in The Royal Exchange. Much to my delight I was greeted by Niklas Opperman one of the companies founders to talk me through everything.

Oppermann London creates luxury leather goods inspired by Scandinavian minimalism creating a hot combination in London right now. The products are handmade in Italy with quality Swedish and Italian vegetable-tanned leathers.

Like me you’ve probably heard of Oppermann but never been inside a store. Why’s that? Well, until now they’ve operated solely as an online business so anything you’ve seen of them thus far is off the back of good PR. The thought process is they’ve managed to cut out the middleman so that customers can get a better price.

The move into the Royal Exchange reflects the brands ambition and it was quickly clear to see they had the product offering to match.

We were fortunate to take the statement piece of the collection, Pallisy 25-hour bag in Cognac, to Pitti Uomo 91 for a review along with a shoot in streets of Florence.

Its a real show-stopper. The cognac leather sparkled in the winter sun and the we’re told that over time the bags aesthetic will evolve and the natural Vachetta leather will darken to develop a beautiful, unique patina.

What really sets the product apart is the practicality. You can see it’s one of the best looking man-bags on the market with the appearance of a briefcase but it’s spacious enough for travel, overnight adventures and day-to-day living.

I can fit my laptop, gym-kit (including trainers) and lunch in the bag. It’s comfortable to carry with a discreetly padded handle and a thick leather strap for your shoulder (which can be removed).

The details and lining boast serious quality. I chose grey lining because the statement is already being made with the cognac but red and orange is also available.

If cognac is a little too bold for you it’s also available in chocolate, black and navy.

It’s on offer for a limited time at the moment for a price of £400, soon to return to its RRP of £445 with free shipping and returns across Europe.

We absolutely love this brand. Visit oppermann.com to see more.
