Ballantine’s 7 Bourbon Finish Review
Next up on The Dapper Chapper Bar is Ballantine’s 7 Bourbon Finish which is a permeant addition to the collection. It is the new blended scotch whisky that combines the depth of Scotch with the sweetness of American bourbon barrel finish.
Deep gold in colour and we must say, it tastes good. It’s actually the best thing we’ve received from Ballantine’s to date. It’s still for people who prefer things on the sweeter side but the classic Ballantine’s tasting notes of honey and ripe red apple are enhanced with the character and richness from the seven-year ageing process.
This is paired with sweet hints of toffee, vanilla and caramel that are typical of bourbon whiskies making a long and sweet finish and satisfying those with a sweeter tooth.
Best served as an Old Fashioned, with a couple of dashes of orange bitters to complement the sweet notes of the whisky.
