Dinner in Dubai? Why Marina Social is well worth a visit

High above the super-yachts and boardwalk bright lights, sits Marina Social, a trendy and relaxed restaurant in the heart of the Dubai marina.

Located within the Intercontinental Hotel, Marina Social is a favourite for expats of all ages. Entering the restaurant it’s not hard to see why.

Achieving that perfect balance of quality and comfort, Marina Social is a restaurant that promises a great culinary experience without the pretence, and delivers just that. From the warm welcome on reception to the attentive and knowledgable waiting staff, all the fine details are covered.

The restaurant boasts stunning marina views and a vast and equally impressive wine rack displaying an array of bottles from around the world.

Dinner was an experience in itself, as we opted for a delightful DIY style beef tartare starter served with egg yolk jam and a balsamic and truffle dressing. Beautifully presented, with each ingredient revealed by the waiting staff as they showed us how the dish was constructed and demonstrated how best to enjoy it.

Available as part of their ‘Early Supper’ menu, at a very reasonably priced 195 AED (roughly £40) per person for three courses, the tartare is highly recommended to kick things off. We followed with  main courses of Chargrilled Tiger Prawns served with garlic butter, pak choi and a chilli crab dressing and Lamb loin, accompanied by dauphinoise potato, broad beans, barbucine, courgette and a basil purée.

The culinary experience was rounded off with coffee and a selection of sweet treats that are guaranteed to leave you coming back for more.

If you’re looking for somewhere to take the other half, that’ll impress without breaking the bank, Marina Social ticks all the boxes.
