Stenströms: November Edit
With the winter weather just around the corner, it’s that time to turn our attentions toward good quality, stylish winter knitwear. One of the first we turn to in search of the ideal pieces is the ever-reliable Stenstroms, the Swedish heritage brand hailing from the south west coastal town of Helsingborg.
With more than 122 years of craftsmanship behind them, Stenströms, known originally for shirting, has also mastered the art of knitwear and this latest collection boats those simple, classic garments that can be so versatile for the wearer and thus a key and staple addition to any man’s wardrobe.
Three pieces that fit the bill for us at Dapper Chapper this season are the Crew Neck, Roll Neck and zip-up cardigan all in the quality Merino Wool.
“The fabric that we use coms from the prestigious Zegna Baruffa in Italy,” says head of menswear design Peter Juriado. “Merino is a very fine and soft wool originating from Australia and New Zealand and at Stenströms we use merino wool across many of our knitted garments. An active fibre, merino is perfect for seasonal climates and keeps wearers warm during the colder months and cooler when the weather is hot.”
From the beige crew neck, which can be easily layered over a casual denim shirt or a more classic collar through to the zip cardigan, which again can be versatile to match either a casual or more formal gathering, Stenströms knitwear is aimed at the man on the move. Now that travelling is back on the agenda, that transition from Zoom meeting at home through to the airport and the office plays into the hands of the brand’s knitwear, carrying an all-round effortless style but with the key comfort of knowing it will work for the wearer.
“There is obviously a practical element to knitwear, providing additional warmth and comfort during the colder months,” adds Juriado “but equally important for men is the knowledge that they have these classic and adaptable garments in the wardrobe that can be relied upon to give them a quality, stylish look.”
