Harrys of London

A few weeks ago I was introduced to luxury shoe company Harrys of London. Founded in 2001, Harrys of London infuses traditional leather and suede loafers, brogues and boots with rubber and gel technology.

The collection is made up with designs all influenced by our capital. Most of the collection serve to satisfy the want for a smart-casual shoe, something smarter than a trainer but more relaxed than a dress shoe. With that comes good-looking, edgy shoes that combine with the everyday wearability and the versatility of a rubber sole.

The shoes are constructed in Italy using the latest cordwaining techniques and are a truly high quality product, so this expect a high-quality product. The London store is housed in the Burlington Arcade.

My pick of the collection is this super-slick James Monk-Kudu Suede shoe. An evolution of their Mr Jones style, the Jones Monk merges sleek casual styling with the formal characteristics of a double monk shoe. I haven’t really seen anything like this around and it’s now become one of the most versatile pieces of footwear I’ve ever owned.

Handmade using Kudu suede and finished with leather, it’s easy to dress it up or down. As with the entire ‘Jones’ range this style is on the non-skid Vibram® Wave rubber sole and built for comfort and practicality.
