Idris Elba x Superdry
Superdry’s first celebrity collaboration is with British heavyweight Actor Idris Elba, known for his effortless style and Britishness. It’s a premium collection for men who prefer sophisticated style. Minimal logos, great detailing and high calibre fabrics are key throughout the collection. Unlike some collaborations Elba has been involved in the design process from concept to completion.
Designed alongside Superdry co-founders James Holder and Julian Dunkerton, the opportunity to collaborate with them was something Elba was extremely passionate about.
Elba says, “We’re three British lads who’ve worked hard to get to where we are. I’m passionate about what I do and always give 100%. If I had the opportunity to have any influence in fashion, this is it. I’m not a designer, but I’m passionate about clothes and I know how men want to look. Functionality and durability were key things for me. It’s a ‘24-hour’ collection; clothing guys can look and feel great in from day to night.”
Elba’s signature style resonates throughout the 250-piece collection. Deep tonal colours, midnight blues and graphite greys are the key hues throughout this collection.
Made from 100% butter-soft premium leather and contrasting heavy coated zips, the Leading Leather Racer Jacket is a hero piece in this collection. Furthermore, tailored wool town coats, monogrammed reversible bombers plus mac and trench coats are key pieces.
Unveiled at London Collections: Men in June this year, the collection will be available exclusively in premium Superdry stores and online from the 26th November.
