Lavenham Jackets

Winter is here, we cannot deny it. But even though the days of travelling to and from work in the miserable dark are upon us, this does not mean that we cannot dress for the occasion to, in turn, bring a slice of sunshine to our lives. For the Dapper Chapper, that means turning to quality jacket makers, Lavenham.

Originally founded in 1969, in Suffolk, as a maker of rugs for horses, Lavenham then turned to making quilted jackets in 1972 to fulfil a demand for stylish equestrian garments for both horse and rider. As you can see from our recent shoot, we are wearing the iconic Raydon Jacket (navy) which is the prototype for quilted equestrian jackets the world over.

The other jacket featured on our shoot is the olive green Raydon jacket which incorporates as ‘jockey silks’ inside lining in a striking navy and maroon spotted pattern. The jacket is slim fitting with cord collar and trim, an internal pocket, split vent and has metal branded stud fastening. The navy Raydon includes the same features as the olive Raydon but with elegant branded Corozo button fastening. As it is highly eye-catching, you can see that the lining of the navy Raydon is a contemporary show-jumping print by Drakes. This is something that Dapper Chapper has had endless compliments on. Two other Drakes prints are featured in a collaboration with Lavenham that feature in selected garments in the range.

The jackets, although very lightweight, definitely keep a Dapper Chapper thoroughly warm, be it on the daily commute or on a leisurely country stroll. Go ahead and treat your inner country gent.
