Stenströms Men, trends Autumn 2021

As times change, the requirement to wear more flexible garments that work for a multitude of occasions become all the more prevalent. The soft, relaxed and easy style fix is how we now are looking to dress for Autumn 2021, where we maintain a level of sophistication in a way that delivers a completely organic aesthetic.

The 2021 Autumn collection for our long-standing brand favourite, Stenstroms spans from casual jersey joggers right through to the white tie, where the lean is to a more causal style of dressing, but where customers are still able to find those pieces for the chance to dress up.

For the ultimate comfortable style, Stenstroms opts for the go-to denim shirt, which can be easily dressed down or alternatively, as we have seen more recently, teamed with a tie for a more formal calling. Additionally, and a pick we really like, is the merino hoodie – a garment to wear both for casual and dressier occasions.

Other ‘key’ words for this latest AW21 season include layering, pairing, checks, structure and how to ‘challenge’ ones’ style. We like that.

Taking into account the merino hoodie. This season Stenstroms has created a merino wool set for lazy days at home – and just because you might be lounging behind your own four walls, that doesn’t mean you don’t want to do it looking good does it?

Alternatively, if you are stepping out, wear a costal fjord blue shirt under the hoodie with a pair of jeans. The Stenstroms college set is updated in a new brown shade too.

With many of us now working from home, taking small meetings over coffee in town and on to dinner with friends, we have evolved our work attire to be more casual where we play with, and layer various fabrics and team pieces together. A striped Oxford shirt under a knitted cardigan with a collar partnered with tailored jersey pants works well, as does a Fair Isle patterned crew with a white classic shirt.

The jersey shirt with Stenstroms college trousers is perfect for working days at home as well as the new cord shirt, or the soft bio stretch shirt in a dove pattern. No fuss, just effortless and charming.

Both the denim and flannel shirts are shirts Stenstroms believes every man ought to have in his wardrobe. Autumn 2021 is the year of the checked flannel shirt, but maybe not in the traditional colours that we are so familiar with.

The body is a nylon vest, with knitted sleeves. A fun addition to an outerwear collection. At Stenstroms we would opt to wear the Glenn check vest under a garment dyed mock neck, the cord vest with a baseball collar under the thick knitted garments in dove colours and the nylon over-shirt with a yak/merino crew neck. The classic nylon vest is still in the collection, this year in colours such as green, burgundy, navy, and black.
