EAST LONDON LIQUOR CO GIN REVIEW
Nestled amongst ‘old school boozers’ and ‘canal-side warehouses’ thier East End spirit flows through to their entire brand. East London Liquor Co’s mission from the very beginning has been to make great drinks that ‘don’t cost the earth’, and that they have done.
As a loyal SW Londoner it is hard to admit when the East Enders come up with the goods, but their unpretentiously packaged gin with its approachable price tag is too good not to share.
At £22.50 a bottle this gin is a household must and what I’d call my go-to, everyday gin. With notes of juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, cardamon, cubeb berries plus lemon and pink grapefruit peel, this Gin will hold its own neat, with a lemon tonic with a slice of grapefruit as the main character in a martini accompanied by vermouth.
Our serving suggestion:
- 5mL rosé vermouth
- 15mL gin
– 60mL grapefruit tonic or soda
– Ice
– Grapefruit wedge
– A sprig of rosemary
Method:
- Add rosé vermouth and gin to a wine glass.
- Top up with grapefruit tonic or soda.
- Add ice.
- Stir with a long spoon.
- Garnish with grapefruit wedge and a sprig of rosemary.
