We’ve taken on Note di Colonia II for review, a fragrance that was also included in the 2016 Dapper Chapper Gift Guide.

Firstly, it’s worth stating that despite the woody aroma this is billed as a unisex fragrance. Top notes include orange, grapefruit, bergamot, cardamon and basil. Woody notes follow through the middle with vetiver and musk acting as the base notes.

The presentation of the Note di Colonia range is superb. Noble materials are used for the bottle, stopper and presentation box which are all as exquisite as you’d expect, fitting inline with the brands premium Italian craftsmanship offering.

I usually don’t include brand messaging but Acqua di Parma are so poetic I wanted to include how they describe it:

‘A hymn to the awareness of victory and to moments that make experiences unique and timeless. A tribute to ‘Nessun Dorma’, the famous melody from ‘Turandot’ by Giacomo Puccini. A creation that traces the protagonist’s hopeful and eager mood by merging the fresh bouquet of Orange, Bergamot and Grapefruit with the aromatic notes of Cardamom and Basil. A growing symphony that takes shape and becomes grounded with the warm deep scent of Sandalwood and Gaiac, Vetiver and Musk. An intense sophisticated olfactory virtuoso fragrance that has a bold personality.’

Now close your eyes and think of evenings in Italy…

This fragrance is on the pricier end of the scale, even for Acqua di Parma, but it is a spectacular scent and will above your other fragrances on on your dresser.
