The Smythson Soho Diary Review

By Adam Thursday 8th Dec, 2016

Last week I picked up my new favourite thing, a personalised Smythson Diary from the store in The Royal Exchange.

I’ve always used a diary, despite running a few social communities and being online all day, I actually still prefer to jot down my appointments. 2017’s diary takes things to a whole new level. Why? Well, because it’s made by Smythson for the gentleman who values exquisite craftsmanship and the fine arts of writing and organisation.

Established in 1887, Smythson is one of Britain’s foremost luxury lifestyle brands, internationally renowned for its timeless style, impeccable craftsmanship and innovative design.  Smythson is the proud holder of three Royal Warrants, so rest assured that a Dapper Chapper is in safe hands with this one.

As I entered the charming store at The Royal Exchange, you’re greeted with a burst of colour. It’s pleasing to see how modern the brand is given the fact they started 130 years ago and this is reflected by the variety of colours on show in the store.

The diaries look good from afar but it’s really not until you touch them until you realise how special they actually are. I chose the Soho Diary which is made from supple Goat Leather, with gilt-edged featherweight blue paper inside. 2017 in gold sits in the centre of the cover with my initials in the same colour discreetly positioned in the bottom right corner. Class.

The diary is £155 and will now be one of my annual purchases.

Here are some other options from the collection including The Panama Diaries, Kings Diaries, Portobello Diaries & The 2017 Fashion Diaries:
