Oris Artelier Calibre 113 – A Real Watch for Real People

By Alex Noble Thursday 5th Jul, 2018

A question we’re often asked at DCHQ, is what makes Chappers tick? And by that, we assume they mean what is it that really stimulates us and gets us uber excited?

Well, apart from a great Scotch, a Winchester chair and some pleasant company, we also love to look great and I don’t think you could argue against me saying that a gentleman isn’t fully dressed until he arms himself with a stellar watch.

History calls them an essential navigation tool and time-keeper but in the modern day, watches are more of a showpiece, due to the fact we can ask Alexa, Siri, or even Google, what the time is (how lazy we’ve become).

However, although we live in a contemporary world, don’t for one second think we would sacrifice a watch just because someone else can tell us the time. They’re a brilliant statement piece that can add a little bit of oomph to any outfit, especially when donning some kind of tailoring.

Where to go for this killer timepiece?

Well, just like the French know their cheese, Scotland their Whisky and Germany their sausages, Switzerland knows its watches. For this reason, I wouldn’t venture too far away from a Swiss brand, with Oris being right at the top of that list. They recently opened a temporary pop-up store in the heart of the capital (if you haven’t visited it already, make sure you do because it disappears – you will not be disappointed) and their range of products is quite exceptional.

The watch we’re loving at the moment is this Oris Artelier Calibre 113. Stunning, isn’t it?

This is a model aimed at stylish businessman – those who dress immaculately on a day to day basis and to whom punctuality is essential; One missed meeting could be one huge opportunity missed. Not only does this watch tell the time (if it didn’t we would be a little concerned), but it’s fitted with a novel business calendar

“Like the three calibres before it, Calibre 113 features a 10-day power reserve, a patented non-linear power reserve indicator and a small seconds. The addition of a business calendar means that once again Oris is introducing a watch with a unique combination of complications. No other watch in the world brings these functions together.”

This is a watch innovated for both style and functionality, a combination that most Dapper Chappers revel in.
