Edinburgh Valentine’s Gin Review

Gin is still very much in here at The Dapper Chapper HQ and a brand that has caught our eye is at late is multi-award winning distillers, Edinburgh Gin.

They came to our attention during February after we received a bottle of their limited edition Edinburgh Valentine’s Day Gin. The small-batch distillers are known for making quirky additions to the main range but don’t be put off by the name, Valentine’s Gin can be enjoyed all year round.

It’s a spin on the popular Edinburgh Gin staple with delicate floral notes and a pink hue from an infusion of rose petals and hibiscus. Also added is chamomile, lemon balm, lemongrass and Kaffir lime leaves to achieve sweet, floral notes which contrast with crisp, fresh hints of citrus.

If you want the Gin to be dominant try it with soda but it also works well with Tonic. If you want to fully embrace the rose flavours we suggest trying it with rose lemonade.

Here’s the recommended cocktail:

The First Kiss

• 35ml Edinburgh Valentine’s Gin 
• 15ml Edinburgh Gin’s Raspberry Fruit Liqueur
• 60ml pineapple Juice 

Method

• Shake with ice and strain
• Serve in a coupe and garnish with a raspberry

We recommend this as a sweeter alternative to the norm and just 3,000 70cl bottles were made so get your hands on one before they go out of stock.
