Fracap and Old Town General Store
With more than 110 years of shoe-making behind them, Fracap is a name we are familiar with here at DC, not only by the signature boots that last, literally forever but also for that outstanding artisanship that Made In Italy gives.
First introduced to the wider Fracap offering by our friends at the Old Town General Store in Stockport, we stumbled upon and latterly purchased the D151 Sandals, quite a unique summer shoe-cum sandal that not only carries that unbelievable comfort and distinct craftsmanship, but is also so flexible with regards to how it can be worn.
With some of our team out at the first Pitti Uomo presentation since the pandemic (they are not UK-based to clarify) we urged them to get involved with Fracap D151 – perfect for the weather, perfect for an effortless cool appearance and, well, do you need anything else?
Ideal for a hot summer stroll around the trade shows teamed with lightweight, wide leg trousers and either a T-shirt or bowling collar, the D151 can also be worn with the right denim (remembering a rough hem finish or slightly rolled) as well as seasonal summer toned shorts – perfect of slightly oversized and again with that T shirt tucked in or bowling collar shirt.
Handmade in Italy and harking back to 1908 when the Cappello family started the business, Fracap – where the Italian word Fratelli combines with the Cappello family name – has undergone many changes, realeasing a consistent flow of new designs as well as creating collections for the likes of the Italian army and airforce.
The Fracap D151 Sandals are made from 100% tan calfskin for that soft, easy-to-wear comfort and combined with a 100% ripple rubber sole. Now priced at £90 via The Old Town General Store – look ‘em up!
