Oris Carl Brashear Chronograph Limited Edition
We love a great automatic timepiece at The Dapper Chapper and Oris have once again created a masterpiece in watch engineering. The Carl Brashear oozes sophistication, class and is definitely one for the grail list.
Named after Carl Brashear, the late U.S Navy seal diver was one of the most inspirational figures of the 20th century. Breaking racial tensions, disability and to become the U.S Navy’s first African American and first amputee Master Diver. This is Oris’s second watch in his memory and doesn’t fail to disappoint on the wow factor.
Based on the Diver Sixty-Five a watch which I swear by as the ultimate divers watch, the difference being it’s a chronograph. It’s the first time the Diver Sixty-Five has been seen in this format and it’s something to behold. The 43mm bronze casing fits nicely on the wrist, I was worried it may be a tad overbearing but the bronze softens its appearance slightly.
The watch has a great vintage feel and the bronze will patina over time giving it the darker brown colour. Your version will have its own individual character. Bronze watches are becoming ever so popular as of late and are a great day to day option in my opinion.
With only 2,000 available globally, make sure you give this a serious consideration sooner rather than later.
