Chaps, grooming is an extremely important part of life for contemporary gentlemen.
I would argue that a well-groomed individual often feels very good about themselves, which will in turn enhance their daily output (work or social) and general mood. I’m not about to embark upon an analysis of the human psyche and you may think what I’ve said is a load of old tosh, however something as simple as well-trimmed facial hair or donning a new scent will set you up nicely for the day ahead.
‘Grooming’ revolves around a lot more than cultivating a five o’clock shadow or wearing a splash of cologne. You may be a bit of a lazy bones and see all the grooming malarkey as a waste of time, time you’d rather spend spooning your pillow but it can be a lot simpler than you think.
How about a compromise?
Now, I’m assuming you shower?
Why not start simple, and begin investing in a slightly more fragrant and indulgent shower gel or body lotion. Not only will you give you a deeper clean but you’ll be surprised at just how good shower products can smell, and also the longevity of the scent.
One day you’ll be in the office cafeteria, fetching yourself a tea, and suddenly think, ‘hmmm, something smells rather good?’ And then you’ll realise, it’s you. Automatic self ego boost.
So allow me to make a recommendation: this wonderful Tom Daxon set would be a great starting point for your grooming journey. May I add, this is a fantastic product to purchase, whether you’re an expert in the art of grooming, or a three showers a week man.
The wonderful Sicilian Wood concoctions ensure your body feels nourished and revitalised, and also smells bloody great.
So, maybe this year when you’re asked what to get and you say the usual bath shit, why not up your game a little and give the good stuff a whirl. It’s a great way to start your day.
