Newmarket Racecourse with The Jockey Club
For those of you that know me, know that I’m a lover of sports. I’m a casual viewer of most sports but I follow two sports closely all-year round; football, and I’ll save telling you which team for another day and horse-racing.
My love of racing started about eight years ago in my early twenties and I’ve never looked back. So you can probably guess my delight when The Jockey Club reached out a few months ago to work with us to showcase some of their brilliant offerings throughout the year. If you haven’t read it already our Cheltenham blog explains everything you need to know about The Jockey Club.
A few weeks ago we went to check out Newmarket for QIPCO Guineas Festival. I took Rash and two of our photographers Sikh and Dread as part of celebrations for the work put into winning the UK Blog Award the week before and it really was a great day.
It was the first time I’ve been at the Newmarket Race Course but it’s really a lovely racecourse and I fully recommend it.
Our tickets allowed us to get into the Premier Enclosure which I would recommend. They cost £48 on the gate (10% discount if you order online in advance) but across the course of the day you’ll notice the extra space, particularly at the bar. Also, the viewing area outside means you can literally stand on the finish line.
Away from the racing there was plenty of entertainment including live acts, food stools and pop up bars.
The suit I wore is by Hardy Amies of Savile Row. It’s part of their off-the-peg offering, which we’ve also blogged on about Savile Row Suits for under £500. The tie is by New & Lingwood and glasses by Cult Eyewear.
Rash’s more adventurous suit was by Noose and Monkey.
If like haven’t been to the racecourse before I’d suggest attending the Moet & Chandon July festival which runs from 13th – 15th July 2017. Tickets can be purchased here.
Hopefully I’ll be back soon showing you inside another racecourse.
