Sunday Brunch at Roka
Here at Dapper Chapper we would always rather make the most of our Sunday instead of wasting any time worrying about the working week approaching. And what better way to do this than indulging in some great food and wine.
So on a recent rainy Sunday afternoon, we made our way to ROKA Aldwych which is the award winning Japanese restaurants fourth location to sample the Han Setto Sunday Brunch.
Sunday Brunch is available from 12 noon until 8pm, priced at £39 per person with a Bellini on arrival; or at £55 per person with Bellini on arrival and also unlimited red, white or prosecco – needless to say the option we sampled.
Once seated we were presented with a delicious Pear Bellini which got us off to a great start. You then have a choice of red wine, white wine or prosecco which is unlimited throughout your meal.
The starters are all brought to the table as sharing plates and it feels like they just keep coming. It is all really good but our highlights were the Sashimi selection which comes out on a bowl of crushed ice and the beef, ginger and sesame dumplings
It’s then time to select a dish for your main which you can eat yourself or share between the table. The whole menu is impressive but we tried the Beef Sirloin with chilli & spring onion, glazed baby back ribs with cashew nuts and the Sea bream fillet with ryotei miso and red onion. All were excellent, perfectly cooked and incredibly flavoursome, we couldn’t pick a favourite!
All the while your glass is being topped up without you even noticing. What’s not to like.
The real pièce de résistance is the ROKA dessert platter, which is absolutely worth leaving some room for. It comes out on a bed of crushed ice and even has its very own chocolate Buddha which has a soft passionfruit centre. Every item on the platter tastes divine.
We really can’t recommend Sunday sessions enough because quite frankly it’s a more affordable way to sample brilliant venues at a fraction of the cost. ROKA is stylish, the service is excellent and the food comes highly recommended. It is a true Dapper Chapper venue and we assure you it will be a Sunday afternoon well spent.
