SEVEN LAYER Outerwear

Always fans of homegrown talent and those that support the manufacturing infrastructure here in the UK, it will come as no surprise that we are talking big about Manchester’s emerging outerwear brand, SEVEN LAYER.

Following on from their initial ORIGIN collection that received great plaudits from both customers and industry insiders in 2020, entrepreneur and owner Jamie Lundy is not only back this month with highly regarded designer Chris Vandrill with their MTP Collection, but also launches the brand’s flagship store in Alderley Edge on April 12th – thanks Boris!

Maintaining partnerships with ArkAir and English Fine Cottons, SEVEN LAYER has added Cookson & Clegg for this latest offer as specialists across the manufacture and production of military and premium standard garments.

Maintaining the based layering system that motivated ORIGIN, the SS21 delivery is inspired by the New British Forces Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTP) Camouflage, a design delivered to work across a mixed landscape with effortless ease – from woodland, to mountains through to urban settings whilst keeping those northern, culturally cool undertones.

Boasting Layers from base to all weather, the 7L MTP collection is versatile and crafted to adapt to a multitude of requirements dependent on the wearer with stand out pieces including the Mid-Layer Eco Textile Field Jacket, a Field Layer Dry Wax Military Inspired Cotton Parka (Cookson & Clegg) and the Rain Layer MTP Waterproof Camo Over shirt with DWR finish

“It’s an exciting time for the 7L brand,” says Lundy. “The collection is an evolution of who we are and a natural transition from what we put out there last year. We are also pleased too be opening the new store where we can interact with customers which is also a huge part of the 7L DNA.”
